RECENT BAA EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

Biodiesel Strategy Meeting  
Sydney, 27 April 2006

This meeting brought together representatives of over 90% of the current and planned biodiesel production in Australia. 

Delegates heard presentations from

  • Adrian Lake - Australian Biodiesel Network
  • Brendan George - NSW Department of Primary Industries
  • Stuart Roberts - Intertek Laboratories
  • Mark McKenzie - Rare Consulting

Amongst the issues discussed by this meeting were: 

  • Quality

  • Testing facilities, methods and availability

  •  Market Awareness, Education and Acceptance

  • OEM positioning and support – warranty, service, education etc

  • Government Relations – Regulation and Support

  • Distribution Management

The meeting identified a substantive list of issues facing the industry and selected a working group to examine and recommend the most effective measures for BAA to encourage the development of the Australian biodiesel industry.
