Biofuels Taskforce Results are out! - What does this mean?

The findings of the Biofuels taskforce have been announced by the Hon. John Howard. The final position is in support of biofuels in general. Biodiesel was given a back seat in the findings as it was in the terms of reference for the taskforce in the first place. How will these outcomes affect the Government support for Biodiesel in Australia and what issues need to be raised and supported?

The Biofuels Taskforce Can be found at www.dpmc.gov.au/biofuels/index.cfm

The findings are currently being reviewed. Already several assumptions are noted on the current projects in development and the projected production - it would appear that the government expects 60% of those projects to fail before 2010. The price of oil is also being assumed at only $35/barrel by 2010! See Steve Forbes contradicts oil price claim in latest investor newsletter for the mixed messages being given to the government, public and investors - who does this really benefit?

Once the review of the findings is complete, we will report them here - watch this space!
